Captains Elizabeth and Xavier would love to share the beauty and joy they find living in the Florida Keys with you and your family. There is nothing they would rather do then spend time in, on, and under the water.
Captain Xavier hails from Cuba – arriving in the United States with his family when he was 5 years old! He and his family hold a chapter in the rich history binding Cuba and America. Raised on Long Island, NY the family thrived and Xavier went on to earn an education and advanced degrees from SUNY and the University of Colorado. He spent the first half of his career as a respiratory therapist working in the field and finally as the head of his department in the Penrose Hospital Complex.
He traded his scrubs for flip flops when he “retired” to the Florida Keys. He wouldn’t have it any other way.
Captain Elizabeth found her way to the Florida Keys via Washington D.C. After her rural Ohio upbringing (instilling the sound moral compass that can only come from the Midwest!), she went off to New England to earn a degree from Boston University. Extensive, post graduate travel abroad, brought her to the nation’s capital. Thinking she wanted to live in the center of the political universe, she took up residence. A few short years of political mayhem cured her of her need to change the world through the political process.
After a “quick vacation” in the Florida Keys, she reassessed her D.C. moment and quickly put in her two weeks notice at work, packed her bags, bought a houseboat in Islamorada and never looked back!
Raising a Family
After years and years of boating, sailing, playing, working and touring customers Elizabeth and Xavier decided to raise a family and are endlessly delighted to now raise their daughter Sofia to love their island lifestyle.
