What Guides Us
At Bay and Reef Company, we are dedicated to creating meaningful coastal experiences that celebrate an authentic coastal lifestyle. Through immersive excursions, empowering maritime learning for women, and unique real estate investment opportunities, we honor the true nature and beauty of the Florida Keys, inspiring a lifestyle deeply connected to the water.
Who We Are
Captain Elizabeth Jolin
Captain Elizabeth Jolin found her way to the Florida Keys via Washington D.C. After her rural Ohio upbringing (instilling the sound moral compass that can only come from the Midwest!), she went off to New England to earn a degree from Boston University. Extensive post-graduate travel abroad brought her to the nation’s capital. Thinking she wanted to live in the center of the political universe, she took up residence. A few short years of political mayhem cured her of her need to rub shoulders with the politically powerful.
After a ‘quick vacation’ in the Florida Keys, she reassessed her D.C. lifestyle, quickly put in her two weeks notice at work, packed her bags, bought a houseboat in Islamorada and never looked back. He trades his scrubs for flip flops when he “retired” to the Florida Keys. He wouldn’t have it any other way.
What We Believe
We are convinced that to spend time on the water is balm for the soul.
For us, every moment on the water is a moment well spent—a chance to find peace, adventure, and connection with the natural world. Coastal life isn’t just a lifestyle; it’s a way of living that brings joy, clarity, and a deep sense of fulfillment.
We are passionate about sharing the unique freedom and serenity that the water provides. Whether it’s the quiet reflection of drifting on calm seas or the thrill of charting a course through open waters, we know these experiences have the power to inspire and restore.
At our core, we embrace the rhythms of coastal living, celebrating the beauty, power, and wonder of the ocean. We are committed to helping others discover the transformative magic of living an authentic coastal life and all the possibilities it holds. For us, life by the water is more than just a destination—it’s a way of being.
Captain Xavier Figueredo
Hailing from Cuba, Captain Xavier arrived in the United States with his parents when he was 5 years old. He and his family hold a chapter in the rich history binding Cuba and America. Raised on Long Island, NY, the family thrived and Xavier went on to earn an education and advanced degrees in respiratory therapy from SUNY and the University of Colorado. He spent the first half of his career as a therapist working in the field and finally as the head of his department in the Penrose Hospital Complex.

Together, with their daughter Sofia, Captain Elizabeth and Xavier have created a charmed life for themselves. They would love to share it with you and your family, on the water, in the Florida Keys.
